RE: What version of Linux are you running and have you tuned Linux? ~Umberto Nongeroson 14.Jul.03 06:08 PM a Web browser Domino Server All ReleasesLinux - RedHat

We were suspicious of that... I was reluctant to tweak anything because of good reference material from Lotus, and also because usually when you tweak things without knowing what you're doing 100%, it causes more problems than good. However, that doesn't mean I won't be willing to use the tuning settings you found have worked!
>Can I ask, what distribution of Linux are you running, what kernel version is it?
RedHat Linux 8.0,
kernel-2.4.18-14
glibc-2.3.2-4.80.6

We haven't tuned at all. We like RedHat because of the RedHat network - makes it easy to make sure our servers are patched correctly. I definately would like to do this without recompiling every time a new kernel patch comes out... :-)
>I'm short for time now but I'll try to come back with some other links for you...
That would be great! If you are able to post which settings you change on your servers, that would help us very, very much. Have you had any problems with database corruption with untuned settings, and have you ever worked with software RAID (1)? I imagine you haven't used it :-)
You mentioned you had a report on NotesBench.. which one is it?
